Certificates of Compliance
IEC 61508/61511 – ISO 13849 TUV to SL 3 an PLe Life Test Data Safety Manual
The standards MAC Valves solutions are dealing with are: IEC 615048 – IEC 615611 / ISO 13849 Each of these standards deal with machine redundancy. MAC assemblies are certified by TUV to SIL 3 and PLe categories. They are all related to European directives applying to the safety of industrial machinery: *Machine directive (2006/42/EC) for machine manufacturers*The use of work equipment by workers and work directive for users. The directives outline the general rules for the safety on machines. The standards outline the specifications for the different parts of the machines

European Union Directives (CE Mark) Relating to MAC Products
Most Commonly Asked Questions:
1. What does CE mean?
European Community ie “Communaute Europeenne”
2. Why is it necessary to comply with CE directives?
To export products to the European community
3. Which CE directive guidelines do MAC products (excluding PPC and Serial Interface) need to comply with?
Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU)
4. Which CE directive guidelines do MAC products PPC and Serial Interface need to comply with?
EMC Directive (2014/30/EU) Electromagnetic Compatibility
5. Is it necessary for the CE label to appear on all MAC Products?
No, only products that apply to the CE directive.
Low Voltage Guidelines: CE Mark
All electrical materials destined to be used at nominal voltage and are within the following guidelines:
D.C. Voltage (direct current) 75 Volts to 1500 Volts. T A.C. Voltage (alternating current) 50 Volts to 1000 Volts.
All MAC Valves’ coils within these two ranges have been approved to be CE marked. We may not CE mark those valves with coils that do not fall within these guidelines
EMC Directive:
The EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) directive applies to MAC PPC and MI/O-67® (Fieldbus/Serial Interface) type products. It does not apply to other MAC solenoid products. Our customers may require data about the emissions of electromagnetic energy and the susceptibility of the components in order for their equipment to comply with the EMC directive. Please consult factory with any questions.

Machine Directive (2006/42/CE)
Pneumatic and electro-pneumatic components do not need to be individually CE marked for the machine directive. The basic product and operating data given in the catalog is sufficient for the selection of components in order for the machine to comply with this directive.
RoHS Restriction of Hazardous Substances
WEEE Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment
The European Union has reacted to the problem of waste electrical and electronic equipment by enacting the following directive: Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment – WEEE (2012/19/EU) and Restriction on use of Hazardous Substances – latest revision “RoHS 3” (EU Directive 2015/863)
EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) – As of July 1, 2019 RoHS 3 – (EU Directive 2015/863)
Summary
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) “RoHS 3” (EU Directive 2015/863) adds Category 11 (catch-all) products and adds four new restricted substances – all phthalates. The four phthalates are mainly used as insulation plasticizers, and are on the REACH list of SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern). The expanded list for RoHS 3 is thus as follows:
Cadmium (0.01 %)
Lead (0.1 %)
Mercury (0.1 %)
Hexavalent chromium (0.1 %)
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) (0.1 %)
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) (0.1 %)
Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (0.1 %)
Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) (0.1 %)
Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0.1 %)
Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (0.1 %)
Category 11 products include all other electronic and electrical equipment not covered under the other categories. Included are 2-wheeled vehicles, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) such as e-cigarettes, cannabis vaporizers and vape pens. Also included are electrical cables that are less than 250V working voltage
EEE Falling within Categories 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, and 10 of the WEEE regulations, Annex IA, are covered under the scope of RoHS regulations. Categories include:
1. Large household appliances
2. Small household appliances
3. IT and telecommunications equipment
4. Consumer equipment
5. Lighting equipment
6. Electrical and electronic tools (with the exception of large-scale stationary industrial tools)
7. Toys, leisure and sports equipment
8. Medical devices (with the exception of all implanted and infected products.
9. Monitoring and control instruments
10. Automatic dispensers
The question over applicability of RoHS legislation for a MAC Valves customer’s product must be considered and determined by the customer. MAC Valves will also develop new RoHS compliant products consistent with the industry trends. If a customer requires RoHS compliance for its products then they must purchase a suitable RoHS compliant product for use. If you need a statement of compliance or have a question regarding RoHS or WEEE compliance, please consult our factory.
